American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Nocard Award: recognition for Institut Pasteur scientists
- Carla Saleh appointed as a Distinguished International Fellow of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH)
Founded in 1903, the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) is the largest international scientific organization of experts dedicated to reducing the worldwide burden of tropical infectious diseases and improving global health. It accomplishes this by generating and sharing scientific evidence, informing health policies and practices, fostering career development, recognizing excellence, and advocating for investment in tropical medicine/global health research.
The title of ASTMH Distinguished International Fellow formally recognizes up to eight scientists who have made eminent contributions to a particular aspect of tropical medicine or hygiene. This year, Carla Saleh, Head of the Viruses and RNA Interference Unit, was appointed as an ASTMH Distinguished International Fellow.

- The book Pasteur, l'homme et le savant (Pasteur, the man and the scientist) receives the Edmond Nocard Award from the French Veterinary Academy
In line with its long-held commitment to academic tradition, in 2022 the French Veterinary Academy (AVF) selected 15 books to receive an AVF award and gave a special mention to ten other books for the period 2020-2022.
For its quality and historical interest in this bicentenary year of Louis Pasteur's birth, the book Pasteur, l'homme et le savant (Pasteur, the man and the scientist), by Maxime Schwartz and Annick Perrot, published by Editions Tallandier, was selected by the AVF awards panel, which met on October 12, 2022, to receive the Edmond Nocard Award, a choice confirmed by the Bureau of the Academy in November.
