Modernization

Webcampus revamp and modernization: vote for the name of your future intranet to have your say on one of the first building blocks in this long-awaited project

Context

The intranet is a tool that is used and shared by all staff. It is a vital online platform for internal communication, and more broadly for the organizational needs of the entire institution. The aim of this shared platform is to improve the flow of information and encourage the sharing of resources, thereby strengthening organizational efficiency and cohesion. The intranet serves as a comprehensive institutional toolkit.

In recent years, with major crises such as COVID-19 and new developments in IT and digital tools, it has become clear that staff practices and expectations have changed.

The intranet now is seen less as a vertical communication platform and more as a portal for transferring and sharing information among all staff and for accessing collaborative applications. So it has become crucial for the Institut Pasteur to provide staff with an intranet that reflects its structure and organization and that meets needs in terms of communication and collaboration, so that we can continue to work better together.
The new intranet will be more user friendly and will have a visual identity that reflects the current graphic standard, offering Institut Pasteur staff a more modern, engaging graphical interface.

A major project with a structured approach

A project to modernize and revamp Webcampus was launched back in September, supported by the Institut Pasteur senior management team and led jointly by the Department of Communications and the Information Systems Department. The project is being carried out with the input of several intranet contributors and users to ensure that all needs and use cases for different professions are represented. It picks up from several previous stages of reflection and preparation that took place before the COVID-19 crisis.

To meet the needs of this intranet modernization project, which is part of a wider effort to optimize and urbanize information systems and roll out a number of new work and communication tools, the Institut Pasteur teams in charge of the revamp project have decided to use Microsoft SharePoint, adding to the suite of Microsoft Office 365 tools already in use at the Institut Pasteur.

Over and above the new IT platform, the revamp will involve:
-    organizing content to provide structured, clear, up-to-date information,
-    improving ease of browsing for simple, intuitive access to articles, documents, news and different working tools,
-    offering access to spaces designed to facilitate collaboration,
-    incorporating aspects from the graphic standard for a new visual identity.

Realizing these objectives represents a major and important challenge. The aim is to make the future intranet an effective ally that facilitates day-to-day work for staff, offers a platform for performing recurrent and one-off tasks, allows us to share information effectively and affirms our shared identity, bringing the entire Institut Pasteur community together as we work towards our shared ambitions.

Vote for the future name of the intranet

As you will be using the future intranet on a daily basis, the teams in charge of the project want you to be involved in choosing a new name for it. A shortlist of five names has been selected by the Senior Management Board, and the next step is for you to choose your favorite!

Go to the dedicated form (see below) to see the five proposals and make your choice. Each staff member has just one vote, and you will have until January 25 to decide. Take your time and choose carefully as once you have selected your preferred name you won't be able to change your mind!
