Report on the fire drill conducted by the Paris Fire Department on the Hearing Institute site

The first fire drill on the Hearing Institute site took place on Wednesday March 29, 2023 with the help of the Paris Fire Department.

The aim of this full-scale drill was to ensure that guidelines are properly applied by occupants, and also to verify the knowledge and implementation of emergency procedures by the site fire safety officer. The drill was also an opportunity to test the intervention procedures of the Paris Fire Department in this building. A fire outbreak was simulated with a victim in an AHU located on the second underground level.

This drill was a way of inspecting the process applied by the officer to evacuate the building and the officer's ability to inform the firefighters about the risks, access points and configuration of the building. The drill also included the simulation of an explosion during the intervention of the firefighters to assess their ability to treat several victims on our premises.

An immediate feedback session was held between the Security Department and the Command of the Paris Fire Department. Several areas for improvement were identified.

The Security Department, which was responsible for organizing the drill, would like to thank all the building occupants concerned by the drill. Special thanks go to the fire wardens for their action throughout the drill. But we would remind you that all staff need to pay attention to the instructions given by firefighters before re-entering the building.

The Paris Fire Department would like to extend its sincere thanks to the Institut Pasteur for welcoming it to the site and for its active participation in the drill.
