On September 12, the Executive Management, together with the Executive Scientific Division, will be holding the latest edition of the "New heads of research units" conference, from 10am to 12 noon. The in-person event will take place in the CIS auditorium. It will be opened by Stewart Cole and presented by Christophe d'Enfert.

40 YEARS OF HIV

Forty years after its discovery, there is still no vaccine or cure for HIV. HIV research during the last four decades has nevertheless delivered major breakthroughs in our understanding of the virus replication cycle and the immune response that counteract it and provided efficient tools for the prevention of infection and progression to disease.

Pasteurdon

In 2023, for the 17th year in a row, the Institut Pasteur will be organizing Pasteurdon, a campaign to raise funds and awareness among the general public in response to global health challenges. A series of new visuals have been produced to highlight the theme of this year's edition, "Research is part of us," and the event will seek to showcase scientific progress in areas including infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, the role of the microbiota, neurodegenerative diseases, cancer and vaccinology.

The lectures organized by the Scientific Council are an opportunity to find out about the latest developments in research and knowledge in a particular field. They are also a way of establishing links between specific research challenges and the broad scientific topics explored at each session. These unique lectures are aimed at the entire Institut Pasteur community.

Conference

For the third year in a row, the Institut Pasteur's Committee for Ethics in Animal Experimentation (CETEA) and Center for Animal Resources and Research (C2RA) are jointly organizing a conference on the use of animals in research. This year's conference will take place on September 8. It will be open to all and available to follow online, via Teams,  or in the Duclaux Lecture Hall, from 2 to 5.30pm.
