Visit to the Institut Pasteur by the Senior Vice-Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan

On Monday January 22nd, President Yasmine Belkaid welcomed at Institut Pasteur Mr Hamachi, Senior Vice-Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan.

The visit provided an opportunity to discuss the next steps in the project to create an Institut Pasteur of Japan.  It also provided an opportunity to discuss current scientific collaborations between the Institut Pasteur and Japan, particularly with regard to drug discovery and other global health priorities.  
 
The Minister was able to talk to Japanese scientists working at Institut Pasteur and learn more about their research, as well as visit the Ecology and Emergence of Arthropod-borne Pathogens unit headed by Anavaj Sakuntabhai.
