A look back at the press meeting organized by the Institut Pasteur on gender equality in science

On Tuesday March 5, during a week of celebrations in the lead-up to International Women's Day on March 8, the Institut Pasteur held a press meeting on the topic of gender equality in science, with the participation of:

• Yasmine Belkaid, President of the Institut Pasteur,

• Mariana Mesel-Lemoine, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at the Institut Pasteur,

• Florence Niedergang, Director of the Institut Cochin,

• Bana Jabri, future Director-Elect of the Imagine Institute (via video link)

The event, held on the Institut Pasteur campus, was an opportunity to give journalists a clearer idea of the career paths – often strewn with obstacles – of women in research and female directors, and to explain how they can and wish to use their positions of leadership to tackle discrimination and professional inequality and to improve the representation of women in science.
