Institut Pasteur teams ready to pound the pavements in Paris: come along to the 2024 editions of the 20km de Paris and La Parisienne
Once again this year, several Institut Pasteur staff members have seized the opportunity to take part in prestigious sporting events, combining their passion for research and their love of sport and challenging themselves to reach new heights. Wearing the colors of Pasteurdon, they will be the best flag-bearers for the campaign over every kilometer of the routes they will be running. They embody hope, dreams, adventures and memories – all words that also reflect the Institut Pasteur's commitment to research.
We wish the runners all the very best as they prepare for the big day!
• "20km de Paris" race: October 13, 2024
On October 13, during Pasteurdon weekend, this year's Institut Pasteur team will take to the start line of the 20km de Paris, one of the most iconic races in France and in the world, with nearly 50,000 participants taking to the streets of Paris.
No fewer than 60 runners from the Institut Pasteur will be rising to the sporting challenge. From 8am on October 13, they will head for the Institut Pasteur stand in Emile Anthoine stadium, which will also be decked out in the colors of Pasteurdon.
Once again this year, the runners will be cheered on by the musical, rhythmic contributions of the group Afro Bandao on Pont Alexandre III, together with several dancers from the Line Dance troupe in La Pasteurale – an intoxicating combination that is sure to give them an energy boost!
• "La Parisienne" race: October 20, 2024
An enthusiastic team of female Institut Pasteur staff members are also preparing for a race that is a firm fixture in the sporting calendar – La Parisienne.
This year's edition of the festive event has been postponed to October 20 because of the Paralympic Games. Some 60 runners from the Institut Pasteur will serve as ambassadors of Pasteurdon, flying the flag and embodying the messages of the campaign.
For this 27th edition of La Parisienne, the route will cross central Paris and take in several emblematic monuments. Participants can complete 7 or 10km, walking or running, and enjoy a great atmosphere right from the start line under the Eiffel Tower, on the Pont d'Iéna.
On October 20, they will be demonstrating how far they are willing to go for research! Why not come along and cheer them on?
• Wearing the colors of Pasteurdon
This year, the runners taking part in the 20km de Paris and La Parisienne will be wearing the Pasteurdon visuals. Five bibs based on the five posters for this year's Pasteurdon will give the Institut Pasteur's teams the opportunity to serve as messengers, conveying the words and research challenges that are central to the campaign.
As they pound the pavements, they will be flying the flag for Pasteurdon and defending research!
• Focus on PasteurRun
For the 18th edition of Pasteurdon, the Institut Pasteur is inviting companies and individuals to take part in a virtual run for charity.
From October 9 to October 27, 2024, participants can sign up to the PasteuRun app, designed specially for the campaign, and cover as many kilometers as possible (running or walking) in support of the Institut Pasteur's scientists.
Companies will be able to mobilize their employees to help raise the counter, as will individuals wishing to take part in this solidarity challenge.
For Pasteurians, free registration for the PasteuRun application will be available from October 4.
First challenge: the first 50 of you to register will receive running accessories!
And make sure you tell your friends and family about PasteuRun and encourage them to sign up via this link – don't forget to let them know that €10 will be donated to the Institut Pasteur from the €15 sign-up fee.
