The Institut Pasteur’s Stem Cell Initiative is pleased to invite you to the mini symposium: "The Human Embryo: Novel Perspectives in Research and Disease Mechanisms" that will take place on November 18, 2024, from 9:15am to 12:30pm in the Duclaux lecture hall.

This international mini symposium will cover the state of the art in human embryo models and resources, highlight knowledge gaps relevant to fertility, embryology and health, and review ethical considerations.

The program will feature presentations from the most prominent scientists in the field:

•    Bernadette De Bakker (Amsterdam UMC, The Netherlands)
•    Nicolas Rivron (Institute of Molecular Biotechnology of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (IMBA), Vienna BioCenter, Austria)
•    Ken McElreavey (Institut Pasteur, Paris)
•    Alain Chédotal (Institut de la Vision, Paris)
•    Cécile Martinat (I-Stem, Évry)

The discussion will be chaired by Alfonso Martinez Arias (University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain).

It will be a unique opportunity to look at the broad picture and discuss prospects and challenges for this currently booming field. Save the date!

The symposium will be followed by the IP Stem Cell Initiative’s annual meeting in the afternoon: “Stem Cell Day”. This cross-department event will feature talks and posters from scientists studying or using stem cells on campus.
