• Remote training: Managing open access to publications: challenges, ecosystem and policies adopted by institutions and research funders on Thursday November 14, 2024 from 10am to 12pm* (in French)
In its Charter for Open Access to Publications, the Institut Pasteur has set itself the target of 100% of publications published as open access. It has introduced the system of submitting publications to the HAL-Pasteur open access archive, with the COMESP using this as part of its appraisal policy for scientists.

• Remote training – Depositing data in the Recherche Data Gouv repository
Tuesday November 19, 2024 from 2pm to 4pm* (in French)
The Recherche Data Gouv national repository is a sovereign solution for sharing and providing open access to research data. This multidisciplinary repository can be used for non-sensitive data, no more than 100Gb, if there is no appropriate discipline-specific repository.
At this highly practical training session, you will learn how to deposit a dataset in the Institut Pasteur’s dedicated space and discover the features and advantages of Recherche Data Gouv compared with other multidisciplinary repositories (like Zenodo). You will find out all you need to know to make your data available to the scientific community and associate datasets with your publications.
Aims of the training:
• Familiarize yourself with the Recherche Data Gouv data repository and learn when and why to use it;
• Learn how to deposit a dataset in the Recherche Data Gouv repository;
• Find out how to apply best practices to make sure your dataset is findable, understandable and reusable.
The training is aimed at any scientists who produce non-sensitive data and want to share their data via the Recherche Data Gouv repository.

• In-person training – Choosing a data repository to share and improve the visibility of your research data – Tuesday December 3, 2024, 2 to 4pm, and Tuesday December 10, 2024, 2 to 3.30pm* (in French)
Do you want to publish the raw data related to a research paper? Is the funding body for your project asking you to share your data based on the principle "as open as possible, as closed as necessary"? Do you want to make your data available to the scientific community to improve the reproducibility of your research?
Data repositories are the most efficient solution to meet your needs: depending on the repository you choose, you can make your data openly accessible or subject to controlled access. And there's nothing better than a training course to help you find your way around the many repositories out there!
The course will help you to:
• understand how data repositories work and what they are for;
• find a repository that meets your needs;
• draw up a comparative list of different repositories.
Combining theory and practice, the training course takes place over two sessions. Between the sessions you will have the opportunity to analyze and test a repository and to ask the trainer any questions via Teams.
The training is aimed at any scientists who produce data and want to share their data via repositories.
Before you sign up:
• Make sure you will be able to take part in both sessions.
• The maximum number of participants is 8; spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
