WOMEN AND SCIENCE

Contribute to the development of Wikipedia pages about the Institut Pasteur's female scientists!

On February 7, 2025, to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the Institut Pasteur is holding an "edit-a-thon," a collaborative workshop to create Wikipedia pages about the Institut Pasteur's female scientists. Registration is now open!

Although there has been some progress in recent years, there is still a lack of visibility for women online. Just 20% of the biographies on the French-language version of Wikipedia are currently about women – and female scientists are no exception.

To mark the 2025 edition of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the Department of Communications and Public Affairs and the Department for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) are inviting you to take part in an "edit-a-thon" collaborative workshop to create, translate or update Wikipedia pages about female scientists who worked at the Institut Pasteur.

The edit-a-thon will be led by the association Les sans pagEs, which works to improve online visibility for women.

As the workshop leaders are French-speaking, the workshop will be conducted in French.

The workshop will take place in the module spaces under the canteen, on Friday February 7 from 12 noon to 6pm. It will begin with a short training session on best practices for writing and editing content on Wikipedia. Registration is required for organizational reasons. You can register until January 15.

To register

The number of participants is limited to 30.

A lunch tray will be provided for each participant at the start of the workshop.
