Celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Institut Pasteur de Kindia in Guinea in December 2024

To mark the centenary of the Institut de recherche en biologie appliquée de Guinée (IRBAG) and a hundred years of scientific research in Guinea, celebrated in Kindia during the week of December 2 to 7, 2024, the Pasteur Museum and the CeRIS Archives Division have digitized two fascinating documents that tell the story of the early days of the Institut Pasteur de Guinée.

The first is the visitor book (Livre d'Or) of the Institut Pasteur de Kindia, signed by a number of eminent scientific and political figures who visited the institute between 1924 and 1948 in Pastoria; and second is the album produced in 1925 in tribute to Albert Calmette (1863-1933), who was behind the establishment of the institute, describing how its activities were organized over its first two years.

The two documents can be viewed and downloaded in the Institut Pasteur's digital library (PaJ@Mo).
