Read on for a selection of training courses for scientists on campus that will be taking place in September and October and still have spaces.
1. Statistics
Basic statistics (in French)
The difference between descriptive statistics and statistics for decision making will be explained, and sample characterization methods and statistical comparison tests will be presented.
Introduction to R for basic statistical analyses with the help of generative AI - Beginners
The key concepts of generative AI will be addressed and participants will be shown how to apply them to programming and analysis with R.
2. Biology
Introduction to the basics of histology and immunostaining
The aim is to provide participants with a basic grounding in histology and an understanding of sample preparation processes, while also presenting immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence techniques.
3. Scientific communication
Present your research project – Oral communication
Participants will learn the keys to oral communication, focusing on how to develop an introduction and put forward an argument and how to keep the audience's attention until the end of the presentation, while also managing stress.
Generative AI for scientific monitoring
Participants will use the key concepts of generative AI to explore how to search for and summarize information, then learn how to automate these monitoring processes.
AI-powered scientific publication writing
The aim is to learn how to use generative AI as an assistant to structure, write, rephrase and optimize scientific publications.
Writing a research paper
This training will show participants how to structure and write clear and effective scientific papers for peer-reviewed journals.
Generative AI for Institut Pasteur trainers (in French)
Participants will learn how to master and harness the key concepts of generative AI to create and optimize teaching content and also to improve their engineering practices.

Practical information
• These training courses are open to Institut Pasteur staff and OREX and the course costs are covered under the HR Skills Development Plan
• Some of the courses include modules related to artificial intelligence. These are indicated on the dedicated page with a pictogram
• We would remind you that training courses must be completed in full
• You can find full practical information, detailed course descriptions, requirements, registration information and useful contacts on the scientific training home page on ePasteur.
In total, there are more than a hundred available training courses, developed with scientists and experts on campus by the Scientific Training team in the Skills and Training Office within the HR Department. The "scientific training" section covers a wide range of topics, with around a hundred pages providing information about learning objectives, practical details about how to sign up and course descriptions.
