2026 Budget Bill: weakening donations for biomedical research pose a direct threat to our health and the health of our children

Ahead of the debate over the future 2026 Budget Bill, several leading biomedical research foundations and associations have expressed their deep concern at some of the savings scenarios recommended in a recent report by the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) and the General Inspectorate of Education, Sport and Research (IGESR). Early estimates suggest that some of the proposals could affect more than a quarter of organizations' private resources, at a time when research is already facing increasing pressures.
