Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
The latest issue of the quarterly newsletter for Institut Pasteur donors – the "Lettre de l'Institut Pasteur" (LIP) –, published in November, contains a special feature on the Institut Pasteur's 130th anniversary. This new issue looks back over the history of the Institut Pasteur and the universal humanist values handed down to it by Louis Pasteur himself, which have provided the foundations for the Institut Pasteur to become an internationally recognized biomedical research center at the forefront of innovation. The LIP looks at some of the many scientific discoveries that have taken place over the years, including those that earned 10 Institut Pasteur scientists the Nobel Prize in Medicine.
This latest issue also looks back at how 130 years of public generosity have made it possible for the Institut Pasteur to achieve such success – while highlighting the difficulties in fundraising this year as a result of the new tax policy in France. If we are to pave the way for a healthier future through groundbreaking research, public generosity remains vital. The Institut Pasteur has been, and continues to be, "in a constant battle for health since 1888!"
