The European Research Council (ERC) has announced the results of the 2015 Consolidator Grant call for proposals. Two Institut Pasteur scientists were successful:

  • research_006.png Marc Lecuit, Head of the Biology of Infection Unit, for his INVADIS project (Microbial invasion and dissemination within the host, mechanisms and effects);

  • research.jpg Jost Enninga, Head of the Dynamics of Host-Pathogen Interactions Unit, for his EndoSubvert project (Common mechanisms of host membrane trafficking subversion by intracellular pathogens to rupture bacterial containing vacuoles).

The ERC provides grants to leading researchers from all over the world on the condition that they conduct their research in Europe. There are three categories of grants, depending on how many years' post-PhD experience the researcher has. There are also Proof of Concept grants for researchers who have already been awarded an ERC grant and are keen to explore the innovation potential of their research.
