A look back at the second edition of the "Bioinformatics and genome analysis" course at the Institut Pasteur in Tunis

An intense three months « Bioinformatics and Genome Analyses » course was organized for the second time in the Institut Pasteur of Tunis, Tunisia, from September 18 to December 15, 2017 thanks to the contribution of the Institut Pasteur Tunis and University Tunis El Manar.

The course gathered about twenty young researchers and Phd students as well as ten invited speakers coming from France (mainly from the Institut Pasteur Paris), USA, Canada, Sweden and Tunisia.

The main objectives of the course were to familiarize participants with Bioinformatics and large-scale genome data analyses skills in a Unix environment for i) complete genome analyses; ii) NGS data analyses: methods and applications and iii) Metagenomics. Another main objective was to familiarize participants on how to work in a scientific environment (preparation, bibliography follow up, written and oral presentation).
