Towards the creation of a biobank in Guinea

Under the auspices of the Guinean Ministry of Health, a workshop was held, from 8th to 11th March 2016, in Conakry on the conditions for creating a national biobank, following the Ebola outbreak.

Besides the heads of Ministries, the meeting brought together representatives of the Pasteur Institut of Guinea, International Network of Pasteur Institutes, WHO, CDC, and non-governmental organizations such as: MSF, AMP, GET, H3- Africa and the Fondation Mérieux.

At the end of the workshop, recommendations to support biological collections and establish a biobank have been forwarded to the Guinean government.
