Scientists from the Institut Pasteur are investigating CyaA, one of the major toxins of Bordetella pertussis. This bacterium is responsible for whooping cough, a disease that is currently on the rise. Acylation is a biochemical reaction in which an acyl chain is added to a molecule. Agnes Ullmann, a Professor at the Institut Pasteur and Research Director at the CNRS, passed away on February 25, 2019 at the age of 92. The Institut Pasteur will be paying tribute to the memory of this outstanding woman, a world-renowned scientist known for her work in the field of molecular biology, with a conference on November 27 in the Émile Duclaux lecture hall.
