Partnership

The CNAM and the Institut Pasteur renew their partnership for training and research in the area of public health

On Tuesday May 24, the Institut Pasteur, represented by its President Christian Bréchot, and the French National Conservatory of Arts and Trades (CNAM), represented by its President Olivier Faron, signed an agreement to extend the activities of the Pasteur-CNAM School of Public Health until September 30, 2018.

The Pasteur-CNAM School of Public Health was set up in response to the two institutions' firm belief that the importance of public health issues and the resurgence of infectious diseases previously thought to have been brought under control by antibiotics and vaccination meant that France needed a school of public health able to rise to these new challenges by training up qualified professionals. The Pasteur-CNAM School offers a range of courses based on those offered by schools of public health in the United States. Its four specialized research and teaching departments are based around a core curriculum that focuses on biostatistics, epidemiology, health security, social science and health, together with the major principles and practices of global health today.
