Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
On the occasion of the Franco-Mexican convention on Health, which took place on July 10 at the French National Academy of Medicine, Dr. Mercedes Juan López, Minister of Health of Mexico and Pr Christian Bréchot, President of the Institut Pasteur, signed a memorandum of understanding to regulate and strengthen the Franco-Mexican scientific collaborations.
This agreement set the basis for the development and implementation of research programs with Mexican National health institutes and highly specialized hospitals - that equals to French university hospital research centers - present in all states of Mexico. Another 5-year agreement signed yesterday between the National Council of Science and Technology of Mexico (CONACYT) and the Institut Pasteur will allow to host every year five young Mexican postdoc in the laboratories of the Institut Pasteur for one or two years.
These two strategic agreements for the Institut Pasteur happened in the context of the State visit to France by His Excellency Mr. Enrique Peña Nieto, President of the United-States of Mexico, from the 13th to 16th July 2015, who has a proactive investment policy for the development of scientific research in his country.
