The role of women in research and at the Institut Pasteur with the association Rêv'Elles

On February 12, the MAASCC welcome, support and career development structure for scientists joined forces with Nicolas Dray, a scientist in the Zebrafish Neurogenetics Unit, to run a day-long event in collaboration with the Rêv'Elles association, with the aim of raising awareness among young women from less privileged backgrounds about the various careers available at the Institut Pasteur.
The event, which took place the day after the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, was designed to help young women overcome the phenomenon of self-censorship by widening their professional horizons.

Fifteen young women aged 15 to 21 were given the opportunity to see how a research laboratory works and find out about scientific careers and research-related professions.

A number of female Institut Pasteur staff came along specially for the occasion and gave inspiring accounts of their careers and roles at the Institut Pasteur. The MAASCC and Nicolas Dray would like to join with the Rêv'Elles association in extending their thanks and appreciation to: Brigitte Gicquel (guest scientist, former Head of the Mycobacterial Genetics Unit), Sylvie Fouché (Department of Communications and Fundraising), Corinne Sarrazin (Research Applications and Industrial Relations Department), Camille Baussay (Legal Affairs Department in the Human Resources Department), Annie Etienne (executive assistant in the Department of Technology and Scientific Programs), Virginie Samson (Administrative Management Center in the Human Resources Department), Marie Martin (Scientific Information Resources Center), Capucine Fievet (assistant in the Neuroscience and Microbiology Departments) and the museum team for the inspiring tour led by Kadidia Simeon and Muriel Hilaire-Soule.
