2019-2023 STRATEGIC PLAN

European award: submission of the application to the European Commission

In connection with efforts to secure the EU's "HR Excellence in Research" award, part of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R), the Institut Pasteur management team is delighted to announce that the accreditation application was submitted to the European Commission today, Friday June 25, 2021. The response is expected in the final quarter of the year.

Benefits of HRS4R accreditation: a European human resources strategy for researchers

  • We would remind you that in August 2020 the Institut Pasteur pledged to secure the European "HR Excellence in Research" award, as laid down in its Strategic Plan. The award is given to research institutes that apply the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

  • Within this scope, the Institut Pasteur embarked on a process of continuous improvement regarding recruitment and working conditions for scientists, and is thus seeking to increase its global appeal. This accreditation is a prerequisite for obtaining research funding from the European Union.

The result of a year's collaborative work

To complete the application, in June and July 2020 the European accreditation project team organized working groups with Institut Pasteur staff, and would like to thank all participants for their contributions which served to draw up an action plan.

The action plan submitted to the European Commission

The action plan follows the recommendations of the European Commission in the following five key areas:

  • Research ethics

  • Interactions between science and society

  • Recruitment and employability

  • Working conditions

  • Research management and training

Twenty-four specific recommendations are presented, involving several Institut Pasteur departments and representing a long-term commitment.

If you would like to get involved in these measures and/or promote measures implemented in these areas, please contact hrs4r@pasteur.fr
