A look back at the first Welcome Day for Institut Pasteur PhD students

The first edition of the Welcome Day for first-year PhD students at the Institut Pasteur took place on Friday October 13.

This event, led by the enthusiastic and efficient team in the Doc-Office, was a great success. It was attended by more than 40 of the 55 new PhD students who have arrived at the Institut Pasteur since the beginning of the 2017-2018 academic year to begin their doctoral studies. The afternoon presentations focused on the academic and social support provided by the Institut Pasteur for its PhD students.

Guillaume Duménil, Head of the Pathogenesis of Vascular Infections Unit and a former PhD student at the Institut Pasteur, gave a presentation entitled "Building around a PhD at the Institut Pasteur". The PhD students then joined the discussion as they shared their expectations for their time at the Institut Pasteur.

The day drew to a close with a drinks reception – a great opportunity for the students to get to know other new PhD students in their year at the Institut Pasteur.
