Stewart Cole appointed President of the Institut Pasteur

At its meeting on Friday October 13, the Institut Pasteur Board of Directors appointed Professor Stewart Cole as President of the Institut Pasteur for a four-year term.

Stewart Cole is an internationally renowned scientist and Professor of Microbial Pathogenesis. Since 2007 he has served as Professor and Director of the Global Health Institute at the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) – a world-leading education and research center.

He will take office as President of the Institut Pasteur in January 2018. In the interim period, François Romaneix, Senior Executive Vice-President Administration and Finance, will continue as acting President, working closely with Stewart Cole.
