Keeping in touch during the pandemic – take the #PasteuriansTogether challenge

In last week's newsletter we gave you some tips from the Human Resources Department and the Department of Communications on how to keep in touch remotely during the period of confinement.

Because this is an unprecedented situation for all of us, because we all know how important it is to maintain social and professional links, and above all because the Institut Pasteur community remains committed, concerted and united – more so than ever during the pandemic –, we have decided to give you the chance to tell us about your experiences and how you are contributing to the pandemic response in your own way during this third week of lockdown. You can do this in one of two ways:

  • #PasteuriansTogether: capture your day-to-day life in a photo as a way of sharing what you are up to and showing your support

Taking part is easy – from your home, or from campus for those working on site, we would simply ask you to capture a moment of your daily routine and to send your photo by email to this address: gardonslelien@pasteur.fr.

You might like to share the view you have from your home, office or lab, the imaginative way you have set up your home office, or more generally what you are getting up to at home or on campus. And why not try to add a little Pasteurian touch – for example including your computer screen displaying the Institut Pasteur newsletter, the Webcampus home page or the pasteur.fr/research.pasteur.fr website in the background, or strategically positioning your Pasteurdon tote or a pen or mug with the Institut Pasteur logo in the shot...

We know that we can count on your creative talent for coming up with a great idea to photograph yourself, a meaningful item, a room at home or your office or lab. By contributing your image you will be adding your own piece to the giant tapestry representing the Institut Pasteur during the crisis.

You have until 12 noon on Tuesday April 14 to send your photos to the email address: gardonslelien@pasteur.fr.

An exclusive photo montage of all your snapshots of daily life, with the slogan "Let's keep in touch! #PasteuriansTogether", will be revealed in the Friday April 17 edition of the newsletter.

  • Keeping in touch via the Institut Pasteur's private social media platform: the Alumni website

To maintain and strengthen our links, we would also encourage you to keep in touch – privately and securely (outside the usual social media platforms) – via the Institut Pasteur's Pasteurians & Alumni website. Make the most of this secure space to connect up with each other and post photos of support and messages of encouragement for your colleagues at home or working on campus.

It couldn't be simpler – if you are not already registered on the Alumni website and would like to join the Institut Pasteur staff community (open to current and former staff/students from the Institut Pasteur in Paris or one of the institutes in the Institut Pasteur International Network), you can sign up in a few clicks at: https://alumni.pasteur.fr/.

The April 17 edition of the newsletter will contain a selection of our favorite photos and messages shared over the platform.

For more information about the Institut Pasteur's Pasteurians & Alumni website, see the article about the launch of the site in the January 18, 2019 edition of the newsletter

Let's keep in touch, #PasteuriansTogether, and take part in this challenge to show that even though we are in different places and the current situation is far from easy, we are all still Pasteurians, united in this battle that we are all fighting in our own way. So pick up your smartphone or camera, start typing, get creative and let's keep in touch!
