As the Institut Pasteur enters the 130th year of its existence (the 130th anniversary itself will be celebrated on November 14, 2018), the book Institut Pasteur: Today's Research, Tomorrow's Medicine – is being released. This illustrated volume – accessible to readers of all ages and backgrounds – describes the major challenges and medical issues facing the Institut Pasteur and its international network. It pays tribute to the men and women who – inspired by the humanist ideals of Louis Pasteur – work tirelessly, on a daily basis for human health and medical progress.
Come along on Monday December 4, from 2 to 4pm, in the "Salle des Actes".

Scientists from the Institut Pasteur have retrospectively identified early cases of Salmonella resistance to ampicillin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is still widely used today. By analyzing the genomes of hundreds of historical samples of Salmonella, they proved that resistance first emerged well before ampicillin was released on the market for human use.
For the sixth year, Sanofi and the Institut Pasteur have organized the Sanofi–Institut Pasteur Awards.
The next lecture entitled "Eliminating malaria in the Asia-Pacific: Addressing the P. vivax challenge" will be held by Ivo Mueller, Head of the Malaria: Parasites and Hosts Unit.
To strengthen their partnerships in the field of chemistry, the Institut Pasteur and Chimie ParisTech are running a second annual joint scientific day for the two institutions.
Ludovic Deriano and Mélodie Duval were honored with the Cancer Prize from the Simone and Cino del Duca Foundation and the Madeleine Lecoq Prize, respectively, under the cupola of the Institut de France on the 21st of November.
Friday, November 24, the Institut Pasteur, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Fondation Mérieux signed in Beijing a cooperation agreement to create a 4-year research group.
On November 27, the Institut Pasteur held its long-service award ceremony, attended by acting President François Romaneix and acting Vice-President Human Resources Isabelle Pelletier-Doucement. This year, 82 Institut Pasteur staff members received awards.
