Next Pasteurians and Alumni Café on the topic "Women and science" on January 11, 2018 – don’t miss it!

The Pasteurians and Alumni Cafés, launched last June, have already proved hugely popular with current Institut Pasteur staff and members of the alumni community. These events, which feature special guest speakers, provide a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where staff and alumni can enjoy a drink and a chat, share their experiences and discuss a given topic.

The next Pasteurians and Alumni Café will be held on Thursday January 11, 2018. To start the new year in style, the organizers will be inviting Pasteurians to discuss the topic "Women and science". To address this broad question, the guest speakers will turn to the past, looking at eminent women scientists in history, before reflecting on the future by considering the role of women in science today and in the years to come. Several personal accounts will help inspire discussions on a topic that, even today, still gives rise to prejudice and stereotype.

The event will be held on Thursday January 11, 2018, at 6.30pm at Café Thermidor, 229 rue de Vaugirard, at the junction between rue des Volontaires and rue de Vaugirard (near the Volontaires metro station).
