Gender equality – new Employee Resources Group

The Institut Pasteur is continuing to implement measures under its Gender Equality Plan (GEP). It recently established a staff group composed of members who are actively committed to gender equality.

The multidisciplinary group comprises 31 Institut Pasteur employees, both scientific and support staff, and reflects the diversity and wealth of expertise of our organization.

As announced during Gender Week back in September, the role of the Employee Resources Group is to serve as ambassadors to campus for the six main objectives of the GEP:
•    Raise awareness of gender equality and unconscious bias
•    Improve work-life balance
•    Improve gender balance in governing roles
•    Improve gender equality in recruitment and career progression
•    Promote and support the inclusion of a gender dimension in research
•    Tackle abusive behavior of a sexist and sexual nature

The group members will be divided into six subgroups on these topics. Their tasks will be:

1. To propose and implement measures under the GEP;

2. To establish and monitor key indicators;

3. To communicate with staff on campus;

4. To communicate and capitalize on best practices to promote diversity, fairness and inclusion;

5. To liaise between staff and decision-making bodies regarding the needs on campus and any particular issues encountered.

Together with the management team, the work of this group will pave the way for further measures in 2023 to strengthen the Institut Pasteur's policy on diversity, fairness and inclusion.

Many thanks to all those who are playing an active part in these working and liaison groups, reflecting the commitment of the Institut Pasteur community.

A call for applications to join another Employee Resources Group, "Ecoleaders," will also be launched in January to support the CSR initiatives at the Institut Pasteur.
