Refurbishment of the Pasteur Museum – new phase to begin in January

In connection with the ongoing refurbishment of the Pasteur Museum, several preparatory steps were taken in November and barriers were installed to cordon off the site around three buildings (51, 52 and 53) in December. These steps were required before work begins on the historical buildings. The site is now clearly marked out on the 25, rue du Docteur Roux side.

From January 2024, the works schedule will include asbestos removal, preliminary clearing work and removal to storage of historical partitions and floors, followed by the clearing of all technical installations.

Work to remove asbestos from buildings 51, 52 and 53 will begin in early January 2024 and will continue until mid-February. The outdoor work will include chimney flues, which will be removed from the roofs of the three buildings by experts in asbestos removal.

For this phase of the work, the company in charge will use an aerial work platform to access the roof and employees will be equipped with the standard protective wear for such a procedure.
