Human resources

Appraisal campaign gets under way on Friday December 4

This year's annual appraisals and career development reviews began today, December 4, 2020, and will run until February 12, 2021.

  • Main points to remember

- All Institut Pasteur employees now have to take part in the appraisal process, except for those on fixed-term contracts of less than 6 months, PhD students and contract workers, as well as post-doctoral fellows for 2020.

- The process will run from December 4, 2020 until February 12, 2021.

- Please note that the appraisal forms of any non-scientific employees for whom a promotion request is being submitted (including requests to advance from technician to engineer status) must be approved by January 15, 2021 at the very latest.

- As in previous years, the appraisals will be based on the online forms available via the Career Portal (Talentsoft).

  • We would draw your attention to certain specific points for this year:

•    Interviews may be held remotely via Teams depending on each individual's situation, or in person for staff currently working on campus, provided that special care is taken to observe all hygiene and distancing measures.

•    Given the specific circumstances of the past year, the appraisals will only take into account your achievements during your working periods, regardless of your situation during the lockdown (leave of absence, partial furlough or remote working, for example).

•    To help all Institut Pasteur staff as they prepare for these sessions, the Human Resources Department is offering a range of practical training tailored to different profiles (on topics such as remote communication, feedback and leading interviews). There are still spaces available for some sessions.

  • The Appraisal system involves:

- An annual appraisal (reviewing 2020, setting targets for 2021 and identifying individual training needs);
- A career development review, designed to review staff career development and short- and medium-term career plans, together with a detailed career development review (for employees with more than six years of service this year). We would remind you that this is a legal obligation that must be carried out at least every two years from the employee's recruitment date;
- Where applicable, promotion requests for non-scientific staff at the Institut Pasteur (including requests to advance from technician to engineer status).
