Strikes and continued disruption to public transport

The Institut Pasteur Senior Management Team is aware of the difficulties you are all experiencing due to the continued disruption to public transport and we thank you for your efforts.

We would like to inform you that the measures for the organization of working hours in place since December 5 remain unchanged:

  • Broad tolerance regarding the times staff arrive and leave and the option of amending your usual working hours: the campus opens from 6 am for Institut Pasteur staff who wish to come to work by car.

  • The option of working from home on an occasional basis (2 days, exceptionally no minimum service period required) for positions that lend themselves to this option, with line manager's permission (via the HR portal). You should send an email to your manager to request permission to work a second day from home.

In addition, to limit travel time the option of working from home available to pregnant women, as stated in our agreement, has been increased to 3 days a week. This option is applicable for the period between the 4th month of pregnancy and the beginning of maternity leave.

For employees working under the tailored flexitime system: to compensate for longer journey times, the length of the working day will be counted as 7 hours (with their manager's agreement) and any debit hours will not need to be made up.

Any unexpected absences should be covered by a leave request – either paid leave, additional leave (ARTT), days not worked (JNT) or absences during core working hours (APF). Exceptionally, absences during core working hours will not be deducted from the 12 days of authorized absence each year.

Finally, we would remind you that parking on campus is authorized. Computarized registration of request for temporary parking permits is provisionally suspended. To improve the traffic flow at campus entrances, motorists must hand their badge to the security officer stationed at entrances 25 and 28. The officer will swipe your badge at the reader to open the barrier and hand it back to you.

Measures such as car-sharing should be encouraged among units/departments or via dedicated websites such as Klaxit or BlaBlaCar.

Activities requiring the constant presence of specific staff members will be examined on a case-by-case basis by unit heads and their local HR manager.
