Appointment of the new Vice-President Financial Affairs – Creation of the new Department of Internal Audit and Control and appointment of its director

  • Appointment of the new Vice-President Financial Affairs

We are delighted to announce that on December 21, 2018, the Institut Pasteur Board approved the appointment of Françoise Perriolat as Vice-President Financial Affairs of the Institut Pasteur.

Françoise Perriolat acquired extensive experience in administrative and financial management and internal control while she was working in the food industry for major international groups such as Danone, Materne, Sara Lee and Marie Brizard. Her career has taken her to France and various other European countries (Spain, Italy and Greece).

Françoise Perriolat is also a member of the Board of Mr. Bricolage and was previously a board member for Qwamplify, two companies listed on the Paris Stock Exchange. She is a member of the French Institute of Directors (IFA).

Her skills will be particularly useful for the implementation of the new 2019-2023 strategic plan and in achieving the target set by the Board to balance the accounts by 2022.

Françoise Perriolat will start work on January 14, 2019. She will report to François Romaneix and will be a member of the Institut Pasteur Senior Management Board.

Marie-Pierre Gratius stepped in as acting Vice-President Financial Affairs, and took responsibility for preparing the 2019 budget which has just been approved by the Board, and for this I would like to thank her warmly.

  • Creation of the new Department of Internal Audit and Control and appointment of its director

I am delighted to announce that Pascal Masse-Navette has been appointed as Director for Internal Audit and Control. Although the Institut Pasteur has pursued an internal audit policy for the past five years, it had not previously set up a specialized structure responsible for internal audit and control.

To consolidate its efforts in this area, a small-scale coordination structure is being set up to deal with the following tasks:
- Leading the risk mapping process;
- Consolidating the existing internal control mechanisms;
- Drawing up annual internal audit plans to be submitted to the Board of Directors, carrying out these audits and monitoring action plans.

With a BTS (advanced technical diploma) in accounting and company management and a Master's degree in the principles and techniques of accounting and finance, Pascal Masse-Navette has extensive experience both in France, within French and American organizations, and at international level, in Senegal, Cambodia, Madagascar, Mali and Nigeria. He held positions in the fields of financial management, legal representation, financial control and management in various industry sectors (semi-conductors, stationery and food) before joining the Institut Pasteur International Network. From 2007 to 2013, he served as Administrative and Financial Director at the Institut Pasteur in Madagascar, then at the Institut Pasteur in Cambodia. In late 2015, he took up the same role at the Institut Pasteur in Dakar.

Since September 2018, he has been responsible for financial control in the International Network within the Budget and Management Control Department (Financial Affairs Department). He will begin his new role in April 2019. He will report to the senior management team, and for operational matters to the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
