Computer application for managing permissions

The Information Systems Department and the Risk Prevention Department in the Technical Resources and Environment Department are pleased to announce the launch of a new permissions management application for the Institut Pasteur, known as GAIP.

This new application is designed to provide an online solution for requests to access containment laboratories. You will no longer need to fill in paper requests for permission to access BSL3 laboratories. All requests will now be made via the application.

The GAIP application, available in French and English, will enable users to monitor their requests at all stages, from creation to approval. All requests will first be submitted to the relevant line manager for approval, then to the area manager.
The application can be used to keep track of all your permission requests, and line and area managers will be able to see all the requests that have been made by those under their responsibility.

Since November 20, the new tool has been trialled for 4 BSL3 laboratories and 80 users during a pilot phase. This preliminary stage was intended to test and approve the application and also to implement some improvements, such as the option of generating a PDF showing all active permissions for a given BSL3.

A presentation of the new GAIP application will be held in the auditorium of the Jacques Monod building to help you find out more about all the available features and options. There will be two sessions:

  • Friday January 12, 2018, from 2 to 3.30pm

  • Tuesday January 16, 2018, from 2 to 3.30pm

From today, January 12, 2018, all BSL3 access requests at the Institut Pasteur will be managed via the new GAIP application. No paper requests will be accepted after this date.

It is vital that you all make the effort to attend one of these two presentation sessions.

The teams responsible for the application would like to thank you in advance for coming along.
