2020 scientific conferences with the Institut Pasteur Conference Center

This year again, several scientific conferences are held at the Institut Pasteur conference center.

  • Centenary of Jules Bordet's Nobel Prize, March 13, 2020

Jules Bordet, born in Belgium, shared his outstanding scientific career between Paris and Brussels. A symposium celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize of Physiology or Medicine awarded to Jules Bordet has been co-organized with our Belgian colleagues, Friday March 13, 2020, in the Émile Duclaux lecture hall.

In addition to Nathalie Devroey and Jean-Marc Cavaillon who will respectively highlight the familial and historical context of Jules Bordet’s outstanding achievements, Nicole Guiso, Hamida Hammad, Antonio Lanzavecchia, Christophe Legendre, Camille Locht, Sophie Lucas, Alberto Mantovani, Arnaud Marchant, Lubka Roumanina, Christos Sotiriou, Beth Stevens and Alain Vanderplasschen are delighted to revisit Bordet’s forward looking contributions in immunology and microbiology in the light of these disciplines today.

  • ICAReB, May 14, 2020

The ICAReB platform, a member of the Translational Research Center, organizes a dialogue meeting between researchers, physicians and volunteers, being healthy volunteers or patients. Enrolled within a 'Science & Society' approach, this event is organized as a one-day colloquium within the Emile Duclaux amphitheater, on 2020 May 14.

Organizer:  Marie-Noëlle Ungeheuer

  • AMP, June 3-5, 2020

The 7th International Symposium on Antimicrobial Peptides (AMP2020) intends to gather for the first time at Institut Pasteur a dynamic community investigating the chemistry, biology (structures and function), ecology and evolution of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) a class of molecules produced living organisms as diverse as baceria, fungi, plants, insects and vertebrates, and which represent promissing alternatives to classical antibiotics.

The major themes of AMP2020 are: a) biosynthesis/bioengineering of novel AMPs,
b) mechanisms of AMPs activities, c) immune modulation by AMPs, d) interplay between AMPs and microbiota, and e) AMPs in the One Health context.

Organizer: Javier Pizarro-Cerda
