Missions abroad – A reminder of the precautions to take when traveling abroad

The French authorities are advising people to avoid or take extra care when traveling to areas of international tension or conflict.

The Institut Pasteur management team would therefore like to remind staff of the procedures that should be followed. Although Institut Pasteur staff are exposed to the same risks as any travelers, they may be targeted by malicious attacks because they belong to a symbolic French institution.

For all business travel, Institut Pasteur staff must comply with the rules for missions to sensitive countries. Any such missions, regardless of how they are funded, require the prior permission of the Delegate for Safety and Security (DSSu).

For any private travel, you should strictly adhere to the recommendations for at-risk areas and the travel precautions published on the website of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (in French)

We strongly recommend registering on the "Ariane" website before setting off, so that you can be informed of any developments if necessary.

Precautions when traveling abroad also apply to the use of information technology. The Head of Information Systems Security can be consulted at rssi@pasteur.fr if you need any advice or recommendations.
