Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
2024 marked the 10th anniversary of Welcome Days at the Institut Pasteur. Read on to learn more about this key step in the onboarding process for new hires to the Institut Pasteur.
First launched in 2014, Welcome Days are half-day sessions to familiarize new staff members with the Institut Pasteur, its organization, strategy, key people and tools they need to know about. These informal events are also an opportunity for discussion over a croissant or coffee, with a series of speakers providing useful information and a tour of the Institut Pasteur campus.
As well as the usual modules, the 2024 Welcome Days also included a tour of the former hospital in partnership with the teams from the Pasteur Museum.
Welcome Days in numbers
Did you know that since 2014, more than 3,400 people have attended a Welcome Day. These monthly sessions alternate between French and English to adapt to the various language needs of our new co-workers.

A dedicated program and resources
Welcome Days are part of a complete onboarding process, with resources developed to give newcomers a warm welcome and help them feel comfortable each step of the way.
Since 2024, new hires have received a welcome guide to prepare themselves for a seamless onboarding experience. They subsequently have access to a Welcome space on the ePasteur intranet where they can find a wealth of information and resources to help them settle in: the date and venue of Welcome Days, how to register for modules, the induction program, welcome pack, etc.

Developments to adapt to requirements
With a view to continual improvement and making new staff feel as welcome as possible, the HR teams are currently developing supplementary content, especially online, to provide a richer and more interactive experience. What's more, in line with Institut Pasteur's priorities to provide better support for foreign nationals, information campaigns are planned over the coming weeks. Details will be announced in the next Bip. Stay tuned
