New high-parameter spectral cytometer at the CB UTechS/Cytometry PF

The Cytometry and Biomarkers Technology and Service Unit (CB UTechS) is pleased to announce that the novel ID7000 Spectral Cytometer (Sony) for high-dimensional cell phenotyping is now available in our laboratory.

Expanding the boundaries of cell analysis, the ID7000 is configured with 6 lasers and 184 detectors, the most of any flow cytometer available today.

The system enables simultaneous use of 44 colors, only limited by the fluorochromes available on the market.

The available lasers are blue (488 nm), red (637 nm), violet (405 nm), yellow green (561 nm), ultraviolet (355 nm), deep ultraviolet (320 nm, coming in spring).  The instrument is equipped with an AutoSampler that supports a wide variety of standard and deep 96- and 384-well plates, and up to twenty-four (12 x 75-mm) 5-mL tubes.

The ID7000 is an ideal tool for in-depth high-parameter phenotyping from low sample volumes and for characterization of rare cell populations. This technology is complementary to the portfolio of flow cytometry instruments already available at the CB UTechS/Cytometry PF such as the BD FACSymphony A5 (5 lasers, 31 parameters).

Complex cytometry data sets require new solutions for unsupervised data analysis; the CB UTechS provides training on the FlowJo plugins and project-tailored bioinformatic support.
