The MFA lands at Institute Pasteur

After several months of tests with volunteer users, the information systems department and the information systems security teams would like to advise you of the progressive roll-out of MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) at Institut Pasteur.  progressive roll-out at Institut Pasteur.

What is MFA?
It's a particularly secure, multi-step authentication method that requires a "what I have" factor in addition to the password to log in (USB key, cell phone...).  For instance, you probably already use it to access your bank accounts or to make online purchases.
At Institute Pasteur, it will only be used when you are working remotely (home office, traveling abroad...). You will then need your security key or the DUO mobile application to identify yourself to the WebSSO (access to ePasteur, the service catalog, the HR portal, etc.), as well as to Microsoft 365 tools (web.microsoft.com application).
On campus? Nothing changes!

MFA... but why?
The MFA initiative is part of a specific set of regulations. In response to the growing number of computer attacks aimed at stealing your data (phishing, stealers...), the security of Pasteurian user accounts has been strengthened thanks to a turnkey solution that is easy to set up and easy to use.

How does it work?
Progressive enrolment will take place with IT Support in the near future. We will keep you informed of the details as soon as possible.

Please also note that, as part of the IT roll-out scheduled for February, the MFA will be automatically set up on new workstations.
