Launch of annual appraisals and professional development reviews on July 5 and the new Career portal

This year the annual appraisals and professional development reviews will begin on July 5 and comprise:

  • the annual appraisal aimed at reviewing the past year and planning the objectives and training required for the coming year;

  • and additionally, a professional development review aimed at discussing career development and goals in the short and medium term.

Career development is a central element of the Institut Pasteur strategic plan. Accordingly, and after consulting the staff representative bodies (CHSCT and Works Council), it was decided to open up the system to all Institut Pasteur employees with implementation via digital appraisal tools as part of a new online solution: the Career portal.

  • All employees are now concerned by the annual appraisals and professional development reviews except for those on fixed-term contracts of less than 6 months, PhD students and contract workers, as well as post-doctoral fellows for 2016.

  • To account for the specific nature and pace of scientific assessment, employees currently assessed by the COMESP will have a specially adapted annual appraisal form via the new portal.

  • In addition to the portal dedicated to leave and administrative data, the new Career portal aims to continue endeavors to simplify and modernize HR processes via digital technologies in order to better meet campus requirements.

  • The first step concerns digitization of the annual appraisal and professional development review forms this summer. In particular, certain fields can be automatically pre-filled and links made to the activities and skills related to job profiles in the Jobs and Skills Guide. Other modules will be available subsequently, including training, recruitment, internal mobility, welcoming newcomers and skills management.
