Leptospira protect each other to survive in the environment
The Leptospirosis Research and Expertise Unit at the Institut Pasteur de Nouvelle-Calédonie has recently published an article demonstrating how Leptospira bacteria are capable of withstanding a wide array of environmental stresses by forming biofilms. Their research provides insights into the environmental persistence of L. interrogans and emphasizes that leptospirosis is an environment-borne threat to human health.
