New research units set up

  • Creation of the Structural Studies of Macromolecular Machines In Cellula Unit

Following the favorable opinion issued by the Scientific Council in December 2015, the Structural Studies of Macromolecular Machines In Cellula (Études structurales de machines moléculaires in cellulo) Unit was set up on July 1, 2017.

This unit is part of the Department of Structural Biology and Chemistry and will be directed by Dorit Hanein, a Professor at the Institut Pasteur. Michael Nilges will direct the unit on an interim basis until Dorit Hanein arrives to take up her post.

The unit will be set up for a first five-year term which will run through to June 30, 2022.

  • Creation of the Neural Circuit Dynamics and Decision Making Unit

Following the favorable opinion issued by the Scientific Council in June 2015, the Neural Circuit Dynamics and Decision Making (Dynamique corticale et prise de décision) Unit was set up on July 1, 2017.

This unit is part of the Department of Neuroscience and will be directed by Florent Haiss from September 1, 2017. From July 1, 2017 to August 31, 2017, it will be directed on an interim basis by Pierre-Marie Lledo.

The unit will be set up for a first five-year term which will run through to June 30, 2022.

  • Creation of the Genome Integrity, Immunity and Cancer Unit

The Lymphocyte Development and Oncogenesis five-year group, directed by Ludovic Deriano, came to the end of its term and was closed on June 30, 2017.

Following the favorable opinion issued by the Scientific Council in June 2017, the Genome Integrity, Immunity and Cancer (Intégrité du génome, immunité et cancer) Unit – one of the projects submitted under the 2016 call for proposals – was set up on July 1, 2017.

This unit is part of the Department of Immunology and will be directed by Ludovic Deriano, a Research Associate at the Institut Pasteur.

The unit will be set up for a first five-year term which will run through to June 30, 2022.

  • Creation of the Spatial Regulation of Genomes Unit

The Spatial Regulation of Genomes five-year group, directed by Romain Koszul, came to the end of its term and was closed on June 30, 2017.

Following the favorable opinion issued by the Scientific Council in June 2017, the Spatial Regulation of Genomes (Régulation spatiale des génomes) Unit – one of the projects submitted under the 2016 call for proposals – was set up on July 1, 2017.

This unit is part of the Department of Genomes and Genetics and will be directed by Romain Koszul, a Research Associate at the CNRS.

The unit will be set up for a first five-year term which will run through to June 30, 2022.
