The theme of the EMBO Conference was inspired by seminal studies of François Jacob on gene regulation and by his reflection on evolution expressed in a book published in French in 1981: "Le jeu des possibles, essai sur la diversité du vivant" and in English in 1982 “The possible and the actual“, Pantheon Books, in an article entitled: “Evolution and Tinkering” published in Science, 196,1161-1166,1977.
A new Massive Online Open Course developed by the Institut Pasteur will be launched in September 2015.
On October 1st, 14 outstanding PhD students will be welcomed at the Pasteur Institute, they come from all over the world.
The iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) program, originally set up by MIT in Boston, was launched for the first time at the Institut Pasteur this year. This program invites Bachelor and Master students to complete a project based on an advanced scientific topic, taking into account its societal and ethical aspects.
The aim of this course is to provide students with theory and practical tools to analyze Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data.
The annual appraisals for staff of categories 1 to 6 and executive administrative and technical staff have begun.
Since procurement portal has been available on campus, several changes have been implemented to simplify your requests.
As we have entered the summer period we are likely to experience more hot weather, which can be unpleasant for those working at the Institut Pasteur.

Presentation of 2016 - 2017 calls for the Horizon 2020 program and partnering
In the runup to the 2016 - 2017 calls for the Horizon 2020 program, the European Commission is organizing a series of events in Brussels:
17/09/2015: a brokerage event to bring together European research teams wishing to submit a project proposal. Various sessions are scheduled to give the researchers the opportunity to present their project for a given call.
18/09/2015: an information day on scientific programming as part of the Horizon 2020 program, entitled "Health, demographic change and well-being". This event will provide an opportunity for the European Commission to present its priorities and expectations for the projects submitted
