Every year for the past 18 years, the Institut Pasteur has run a fundraising and communication campaign, Pasteurdon, to raise awareness among the public of the ways in which research can help tackle global health challenges.
This year's edition will once again support the work of the Institut Pasteur's scientists, who are continuously contributing to scientific progress in a wide variety of fields including emerging diseases, antimicrobial resistance, infections that cause severe conditions such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases, immunity in infancy and old age, and diseases related to climate change.
To boost the visibility of Pasteurdon 2024, a wide range of partners – both our loyal TV and radio partners with their representatives, presenters and journalists, and our partner companies, some who have been with us since the launch of Pasteurdon – are gearing up to spread the word throughout October about the cutting-edge research carried out at the Institut Pasteur. Pasteurdon will also be represented at various events, including several sports events in which Institut Pasteur staff will be taking part.

An outstanding media campaign
Once again this year, Pasteurdon will benefit from the concerted efforts of a strong line-up of media partners: more than 50 of them will again be joining forces over five days to appeal to the generosity of the public and advance research. This year, 38 TV channels, 19 radio stations and Le Figaro TV Magazine will be supporting Pasteurdon.
Personal messages appealing for donations, created specially for this 18th edition of Pasteurdon, will be broadcast from Wednesday October 9 to Sunday October 13, 2024, by our media partners:
• The personal radio messages with journalists and presenters representing each station will be broadcast on Thursday and Friday October 10 and 11 over the airwaves of our partner stations: Radio France, RFI, BFM Business, RMC, Sud Radio, NRJ, Nostalgie, Chérie FM, Rire & Chansons, Radio Classique, RTL, RTL2, Fun Radio, Europe 1, RFM, Europe 2 and Le Figaro Radio.

• The TV media campaign, directed by Serge Khalfon and featuring journalists and presenters representing each channel, will be broadcast on our partner TV channels from the evening of Friday October 11 to the evening of Sunday October 13: TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films, LCI, France Télévisions, M6, W9, 6TER, GULLI, C8, CSTAR, CNEWS, NRJ 12, Chérie 25, LCP-Assemblée nationale, Public Sénat, BFMTV, BFM Paris Ile-de-France, BFM Business, RMC Story, RMC Découverte, L'Équipe, France 24 and Le Figaro TV.

Partner companies – always committed to the cause
Every year since Pasteurdon first began, several companies and foundations have rallied to the cause to offer their support with special fundraising drives of their own. Our loyal partners the Le Roch-Les Mousquetaires Foundation, AG2R LA MONDIALE and Assu2000 will be joining us once again for the 18th edition.
In September and October, each will be proposing various initiatives to support Pasteurdon, ranging from charity-linked products to health-oriented sports challenges. We will be providing more details about how they are supporting Pasteurdon in an upcoming issue of the newsletter.
Save the date: events organized for Pasteurdon 2024
• Pasteurdon launch event for Institut Pasteur staff, sponsors, TV partners, journalists and presenters: Wednesday October 9
• "20km de Paris" race: Sunday October 13, with a group of 60 runners. This year the race village is at Émile Anthoine stadium, next to the Eiffel Tower
• "La Parisienne" race: Sunday October 20 with a group of 50 of the Institut Pasteur's female staff
