Organizing discussion days with patient associations

The Center for Translational Science is launching an initiative at the Institut Pasteur to promote dialog with patient associations. As part of this process, the Center held discussions on the topic last year with Inserm and the Institut Curie.

This was followed on May 25 by a day aimed primarily at healthy volunteers in contact with Institut Pasteur's scientists via the Center's ICAReB platform (see on Twitter). This event gave the scientists the opportunity to explain clearly to the volunteers what their samples were used for and what results were obtained.

The Center is now offering to help units that are interested in organizing days with patients, to make sure the resulting discussions are as valuable as possible. To encourage PhD students to organize these discussion days, the Center for Translational Science and the Education Center will be visiting doctoral schools in September with the aim of persuading them to recognize the organization of this type of event as a doctoral school module.
