Report on the Institut Pasteur General Meeting session on June 12

The members of the Institut Pasteur General Meeting board met on Monday June 12.

The meeting, introduced by Yves Saint-Geours, Chairman of the Institut Pasteur Board of Governors, was held in person in the CIS auditorium, but with the possibility of attending remotely via Teams.

During the meeting, the members unanimously approved the minutes of the General Meetings held on June 29 and December 12, 2022.

They also approved, by an absolute majority, the Annual Report of the Board of Governors presented by Yves Saint-Geours, who spoke about the Institut Pasteur's vocation to apply its science to benefit human health and respond to the challenge of pandemics, while continuing to draw on the strength of its international cooperation. In addition to this presentation, the 2022 accounts were presented by François Romaneix, Senior Executive Vice-President.

Please note that this year the number of printed copies of the Annual Report has been reduced from 2,900 to 2,000 (see efforts made to reduce our environmental impact). For this reason, the Annual Report will no longer be distributed in hardcopy to each unit. However, it is available in PDF form on the external website accessible to the public pasteur.fr (see below). At the end of the report you can find further details about the "sustainable" conditions in which it was produced.

At the end of the session, for what was his last General Meeting, Professor Stewart Cole, President of the Institut Pasteur, presented the highlights and discoveries in 2022 for each of the priority scientific areas and concerted actions, while outlining the steps taken for the final six months of the Strategic Plan. Stewart Cole also presented the priorities set for the Institut Pasteur for 2023.

At the meeting, the film looking back at the 40-year fight against HIV/AIDS, produced specially to mark the 40th anniversary of the discovery of HIV, was also shown. The film is being screened at cinemas in France until June 20 and via social media until June 21.

At the close of this address, Yves Saint-Geours briefly saluted Yasmine Belkaïd who was in attendance and asked her to say a few words. Yasmine Belkaïd expressed her pride and her commitment to furthering the Institut Pasteur's ambitions before setting a date for January 2024.
