Pasteurdon

Save the date for the 10th edition of Pasteurdon!

Pasteurdon, the Institut Pasteur's annual campaign to raise awareness and funds, will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year. The event will run from October 6 to 9, 2016.

Make sure you note the dates for this special anniversary edition in your diaries!

Since Pasteurdon was first launched in 2007, it has provided a great opportunity to improve the visibility of the wide-ranging research carried out at the Institut Pasteur, while raising awareness among the general public and media of the need for donations to further knowledge in this area.

To get the ball rolling for the 2016 campaign, the French TV channels and radio stations which have supported Pasteurdon for many years alongside the Institut Pasteur were invited to a presentation on May 24. Institut Pasteur President Christian Bréchot and Vice-President Communications and Fundraising Jean-François Chambon set out the key focus areas of Pasteurdon to an audience including several representatives of TV and radio. They emphasized how important it is – especially for this 10th anniversary edition – to keep the public informed about the Institut Pasteur's role, to explain the health challenges facing us today and in the future, and to appeal for donations.

alexandra_lamy.jpg For the sixth year in a row, loyal Pasteurdon supporter and actress Alexandra Lamy will be the patron of the event, helping spread the word and generate enthusiasm for the campaign. This year, LCI and France 24 have joined the ranks of our TV partners. In total, 22 channels will be supporting the event by broadcasting a clip asking for donations and a series of new short films, and using their presenters and journalists to raise awareness. They will be joined on the airwaves by 14 national radio stations – including RFI for the first time this year – each of which will broadcast a personal message of support appealing for donations.

Finally, the Pasteurdon website – the focal point of the online appeal with all the latest news about the campaign – is gearing up to make sure that the ever growing and ever more curious online community has the opportunity to support, share and generate some buzz about the event on the web.
