L'incroyable aventure de la génétique ["The incredible adventure of genetics"], published on March 8 by Nathan, is the third book in the collection after "The incredible history of life on earth" and "The incredible history of the universe".

Based around a lively, colorful story, this book is a great way for very young readers to learn about genetics as they follow the tale of the book's two heroes, twins Noël and Léon, who are exactly alike but want to find out what makes us different. Guided by scientist Professor Bonhomme in his laboratory, the two boys learn what genetics is, how heredity works, and why there are identical and fraternal twins.

Author Victor Coutard and illustrator Pooya Abbasian approached the Institut Pasteur for guidance on how to explain that genetics is the basis of life in a way that children can understand. They produced the book with the support of the Institut Pasteur, whose scientists gave several interviews, helped with proofreading and offered laboratory tours. Germano Cecere in particular welcomed the author and illustrator into his laboratory and generously gave up his time for this initiative.

In the meantime, a signing session to celebrate the publication of the book L'incroyable aventure de la génétique will be held on March 24, from 11am to 12.30pm, at the bookshop "L'Arbre voyageur", 55 rue Mouffetard, Paris (in the 5th arrondissement).
