Message from Yasmine Belkaid – Establishment of the Department for Transformation and Strategic Projects and appointment of department director Fanny Forgeau

"Dear Institut Pasteur staff,

As we work together to develop the "Pasteur 2030" Strategic Plan and implement the major changes that it will involve, we have decided to establish a Department for Transformation and Strategic Projects, headed by a new director.

The aim of this new department is to support the development and rollout of the Institut Pasteur's new strategy and the related flagship projects. The department will play a particularly important role over the coming weeks and months in helping us to finalize the "Pasteur 2030" Strategic Plan and rallying the campus behind this new vision.

At the same time, working in close coordination with all the departments and seeking the views of as many Institut Pasteur staff as possible, the new department will be tasked with identifying the structural and organizational developments and changes in terms of working tools and CSR that will be needed to underpin the success of these initiatives and enable all staff to move together in this new direction.

To coordinate these tasks, I proposed that the Board of Governors appoint Fanny Forgeau as Director for Transformation and Strategic Projects, and the Board approved. The Director for Transformation and Strategic Projects will report to me and will be a member of the Senior Management Board.

During her career, Fanny Forgeau has supported startup founders in developing strategic plans, led complex projects and coordinated several major transformation initiatives, gaining extensive experience in project engineering and business transformation.

Fanny Forgeau, holder of a PhD in Sociology, began her career in 2003 as a researcher at the CNRS. In 2008, she joined a social marketing research and consultancy firm as a research officer. In 2011, she moved to Linkfluence, a startup specializing in social media listening and analytics, as Director of Research and then Chief Operating Officer, before becoming Chief Operating Officer of Allure Systems, developer of a SaaS solution for virtual image production, in 2017. In 2019, she became Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of the startup Yogosha, a cybersecurity platform that helps companies to detect and correct vulnerabilities before they can be exploited by cybercriminals.

Fanny Forgeau took office as Director for Transformation and Strategic Projects at the Institut Pasteur on Monday March 18. I have every confidence in Fanny's ability to help us develop a Strategic Plan that is both ambitious and achievable and to rally all Institut Pasteur staff behind this shared goal. I would ask you to give her the warmest possible welcome and I wish her every success in her work for the Institut Pasteur."
