Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
In line with the Campus Master Plan, the Genopole building and the building previously used for interns will soon be undergoing extensive renovations in preparation for the future OMICS Center. This new center will house cutting-edge research activities dedicated to bioinfomatics, genomics and metabolomics. The future OMICS Center will also incorporate new teams specializing in the field of integrative and quantitative biology.
In anticipation of the arrival of 60 builders who will be working on the OMICS site, preparatory work began on March 21 to set up temporary facilities for them in front of the greenhouse. This week, the main focus was the removal of earth and trees*. From March 25, this will be followed by excavation work and the laying of foundations to install Algeco® portable cabins for those working on the site. These temporary structures will be delivered on April 14 and 15, 2016. This will require us to make some temporary changes to the campus traffic flow. You will be given additional information about this shortly.
The OMICS Center is due to be completed by the end of 2017.
*Three trees were uprooted as part of this preparatory work. One was moved to a location nearby on the same plot of land. The two others were replanted elsewhere on campus, one close to new social space, The 25, and the other behind the Bâtiment François Jacob, next to the administrative building.
