Update on eliminating hazardous waste – part 2: Waste water

A new waste disposal system for liquid chemicals will be introduced in June. From this point onwards, non-chlorinated waste water should be disposed of in containers with blue labels marked UN3082. Non-hazardous chemicals or chemicals which only pose a risk to the environment should also be disposed of via this new waste system.
We would remind you that a memo from the Quality, Environment and Sustainable Development Department outlines the responsibilities of waste producers and provides some guidelines on how to dispose of liquids.

The Institut Pasteur now has two new waste streams for hazardous waste: one for non-chlorinated waste water and one for packaging that is empty, dirty and has not been cleaned.

You will be informed of the new guidelines for the disposal of chemical products in due course via the Health & Safety Coordinators for each unit.

If you have any questions, please contact the cleanliness, hygiene and sterilization unit manager, Guillaume Soubigou: guillaume.soubigou@pasteur.fr
